I recently visited an exhibition about the history of my home town.
It was fascinating to view the series of photographs taken over the years from virtually the same view point, showing how the town has changed.
With my imagination fired by this I am now looking back at old photos of places I have visited frequently with a view to producing a similar effect at home with canvas pictures.
Over the coming year I am going to revisit some of these and update the shots I have.
Even small canvas prints of these views aligned along the stair wall will bring back so many treasured memories and no doubt prompt many conversations with viistors.
When saving images for canvas prints there are a bewildering choice of file types, some more suitable than others.
For canvas printing, tiff is the industries most common, but it can create very large files which take up disc space and are not easily transferred via the internet.
Therefore the best choice is jpeg, but be aware that when saving, the scroll bar MUST be set to highest file size. This allows the jpeg when closed to compress often to less than a Mega Byte but when opened again will expand back to full resolution, often up tp 30 or more Mega Bytes. Saving them at any less than highest file size will result in loss of image information which means when it is opened again it cannot expand back to full resolution often with unprintable results!
Holidays are upon us.
Lazy afternoons drifting down a tranquil canal.
Picnics in a flower strewn meadow.
Peaceful strolls down a leafy lane.
Or do you prefer the adrenalin rush of surfing, hang gliding or climbing.
They are all out there waiting to be experienced, and of course captured on canvas prints for you to treasure the memories of.
Canvas printing is in fact the most effective way of keeping those treasured memories alive, so get snapping this summer!

July, the month of contrasts.
Sultry hot days and dark velvet nights.
Clear blue sky suddenly punctuated with thunder storms that leave dark slate grey clouds pierced with shafts of brilliant sunlight.
All that is missing is the camera and then you can capture those seductive shades with canvas prints.
We can print on canvas your image in square, portrait or landscape format, whatever suits your image.
If the image is landscape but you want to concentrate on the pair of figures stood in the centre, we can crop just that area to form a portrait canvas print.
Zooming in on just a face and cropping to form a square canvas print is another possibilty.
The only limitations to the range of canvas prints available to you is your imagination and a good camera!

For that “old world” style, we can easily convert black and white or colour images into a sepia canvas print.
For a contempory feel we can convert your colour image to black and white and then bring back specified parts into colour so that they really stand out on your canvas print.
If your image has a busy background we can draw attention to the real subjects by applying a blur to the background and so create s soft background result.
