Saving Files

When working on your images always “save as” rather than save until you are sure that what you have done is correct, that way the original will always still be there to go back to if you need to.

Often the original download is corrupted by editing or saved in the wrong format, if the above advise is followed this can be overcome.

Often images submitted for canvas printing are in low resolution format and therefore not usable, reversion to the original high resolution version is therefore essential if we are to complete your order and successfully print on canvas your chosen image.

Whilst canvas prints are popular they are only as good as the information contained in the image submitted, it is therefore important to maintain the highest possible resolution of image when you are editing them.

It doesn’t matter whether it is a canvas photo or a canvas print of an original drawing that you are ordering, the same basic rules apply.

Saving images for print

When saving images for canvas prints there are a bewildering choice of file types, some more suitable than others.
For canvas printing, tiff is the industries most common, but it can create very large files which take up disc space and are not easily transferred via the internet.
Therefore the best choice is jpeg, but be aware that when saving, the scroll bar MUST be set to highest file size. This allows the jpeg when closed to compress often to less than a Mega Byte but when opened again will expand back to full resolution, often up tp 30 or more Mega Bytes. Saving them at any less than highest file size will result in loss of image information which means when it is opened again it cannot expand back to full resolution often with unprintable results!

Formats

We can print on canvas your image in square, portrait or landscape format, whatever suits your image.
If the image is landscape but you want to concentrate on the pair of figures stood in the centre, we can crop just that area to form a portrait canvas print.
Zooming in on just a face and cropping to form a square canvas print is another possibilty.
The only limitations to the range of canvas prints available to you is your imagination and a good camera!

Coloured Tints

We have all seen the “Olde Wolrde” look brought about by asking us to apply a Sepia tint to your canvas prints, but for a more contemporary look, why not specify a different tint.
With a whole pallet to choose from the effects are limitless and so is the canvas printing possibilities.

Not sure which image to use?

Somebodies Birthday or Anniversary is coming up and you have several small images and don’t know which to use, why not use them all!
Choose from our range of sizes, create a blank document of that size and then scan and drop each image onto it, manouver the around and resize as you think fit until you have the montage that you are happy with.
Save this as a single layer image and submit that for canvas printing.
You can even incorporate a section with text, a simple message to the person envolved and see thier surprise when they recieve a personalised canvas print on thier special day!
